Heather obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Brock University in 2003. She continued her studies at Brock, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Accounting with a Taxation specialization in 2005. During her studies, Heather also taught first-year accounting at Brock to Business Administration students.
Heather successfully wrote the Uniform Final Examination to obtain her Chartered Accounting designation in 2005. She has also completed Parts I and II of the In-depth Tax courses offered through the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, which is a two-year comprehensive tax training course. Heather continues to update her knowledge and skills through various courses, seminars and conferences on a regular basis.
Heather has over thirty years experience in public practice. Many of those years were spent working for an international accounting firm in the Canadian Tax department, which specializes in Canadian corporate and personal income taxes. During her years in public practice Heather has acted as an advisor for privately held small and medium sized enterprises. Her focus throughout her career has always been to advise and assist organizations to save tax dollars and to structure their businesses so as to maximize their overall returns.
